Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S8 may launch with the ability to help users book video doctor appointments through an updated S Health app.
SamMobile reports that an insider source tells the publication that the company is collaborating with online platforms Amwell and WebMD, allowing users to search symptoms, diseases and drugs and schedule online visits to a doctor. Users will reportedly be able to access these appointments 24/7, pay doctor’s fees through the app using a credit card and rate them, Uber-style. In the case of a medical emergency, users could also quickly access 911 through the app.
SamMobile isn’t clear on how Samsung will integrateĀ medical insurance claims into this system, but does state that there will be an option to “mention whether a user has health insurance.”
The new feature is expected to launch alongside the Galaxy S8, which is expected to launch in April, with buzz pointing towards the 15th. Other recent leaks regarding the hotly-anticipated device include a report from GSMArena that states a plus-size variant of the phone will come in atĀ 152.38 x 78.51 x 7.94mm andĀ 140.14mm x 72.20 x 7.30mm for the regular-size S8. The publication further provided a visual comparison between the ‘S8 Plus’ and the S7 edge (below).
The nearly bezel-less design of the S8 is all but confirmed through several visual leaks. Additional leaks have indicated a selfie cam with auto focus and the potential that the device could launch with wireless earbuds.
