Samsung and Microsoft expanded their enterprise mobility partnership at Mobile World Congress 2017 with the launch of the new Galaxy Book 2-in-1.

The Galaxy Book is an enterprise-targeted device designed for customers using their devices mainly for business. The device is built on Microsoft’s Windows 10 platform and includes a full range of Microsoft’s Office software.

Peter Han, vice president of partner devices and solutions at Microsoft, said that the Galaxy Book 2-in-1 is an example of the two company’s collaboration on digital transformation.

“Samsung’s new Galaxy Book lights up the digital capabilities of Windows 10, such as Windows Ink, that empower employees to achieve more by working in a more intelligent, portable and secure way,” said Han in a statement.

The tablet hybrid device will be available in both 10.6-inch and 12-inch models. Specs wise, the 12-inch model is set to feature a 7th generation Intel Core i5 processor, 3.1GHz for the 12-inch whereas the 10.6-inch model Intel Core m3 processor, dual core 2.6GHz.

“We believe collaboration with key partners like Microsoft is essential for innovation, as it shares our vision for building excellence in mobile productivity,” said Jeeho Baek, senior vice president of B2B product management group at Samsung Electronics, in a statement sent to MobileSyrup

“Enterprise mobility allows businesses to expand the boundaries with which they operate and workers to gain flexibility in how they work. Together with Microsoft, we hope to further solve the challenges our customers face by creating flexible and secure technology,” he continued in the statement.

With the Galaxy Book Samsung’s Flow app is enhanced, allowing customers to synch their Galaxy Smartphone with the Galaxy Book. The Samsung Flow app also communicates with Windows Hello as part of this new partnership. It’s worth noting that the Galaxy Book looks very similar to the Galaxy Tab Pro S, a hybrid device Samsung released early last year.
