SaskTel’s 617,000 wireless subscribers will be happy to know that it has completed its LTE expansion in Saskatchewan, now covering 99 percent of the residents in the province.
The carrier notes that this expansion is part of its $1.4 billion CAD investment in Saskatchewan through to 2021.
“Since announcing this project in June of 2016, we have worked diligently to expand LTE to more than 400 towers that serve rural Saskatchewan making our LTE network the largest in Saskatchewan by a wide margin,” said Ron Styles, SaskTel President and CEO. “We know that our customers want access to fast and reliable communications services wherever they may go and with the completion of this project their desire has become a reality throughout much of Saskatchewan.”
SaskTel says that it will bring Voice over LTE (VoLTE) to customers, beginning “before the end of 2017.”
