Virgin BlackBerry Torch 9800 priced $50 cheaper than the Big 3… $549 no-contract

Not only is the launch date for the upcoming BlackBerry Torch 9800 all whacked out, but the pricing is too. The launch date was supposed to be on September 24th, then pushed to October 1st, then Bell launched online on the 24th and other carriers confirmed the official date is actually September 30th.

As for pricing, carriers sent out a press release that the 3-year contract was going to be $199.99 and $599.99 no-contract. When Bell launched online they came in at $179.99 on a 3-year. Better pricing for customers. Now taking a look over at Future Shop shows Virgin Mobile (a Bell sub-brand) coming in $50 cheaper on the no-contract pricing than Rogers, TELUS and Bell at $549.99.

Hopefully the price point stays that way and it’s not an error online.
