Bell goes live with SnackableTV app, its mobile-focused ‘bite-sized entertainment’ VOD service

Bell Snackable TV

Last August, Bell trademarked the term ‘SnackableTV‘ with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO). The description hinted that the company planned to launch a new mobile-focused VOD service, which has since quietly gone live.

Available on iOS devices — iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch — running iOS 9 or later, version 1.0 of SnackableTV is available as a free download to all Canadian users. It streams “bite-sized entertainment moments from the brands you love all wrapped up in one place.”

For the time being, SnackableTV offers a limited number of videos pulled from Bell Media’s wide array of content agreements. The app is organized by Feed, Comedy, Lifestyle, Entertainment, News and Sports, with each video ranging from 0:44 to ten minutes in duration.

The app is free, as is the included content, but Bell notes that “cellular data (3G/4G/LTE) charges may apply for viewing video over cellular network.” So be careful that your viewing habits to not exceed your data plan. For the time being, there does not seems to be any advertising embedded within the app or the shows.
