Leaks are a complicated thing. Sometimes we jump on them because we want so badly for it to be true. Occasionally the truth pans out, though many times the information turns out to be bogus. It’s the job of the blogger or journalist to decide whether there is enough credence in it to publish.
This leak seems to have been backed up already. Samsung, through its Romanian Twitter account, seems by accident to have confirmed the existence of the Nexus Prime and its progenitor, as well as its 1280×720 Super AMOLED HD screen and Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0). The information has now been redacted, though we hope the embarrassing slip-up yields some truth.
Considering the company made the ubiquitous and very-popular Nexus S, it only makes sense for Google to continue its relationship with Samsung. And since it makes its own SoCs and displays, it tends to keep costs down. Can you imagine a beefed-up, high-definition Galaxy S II running stock Android 4.0? Sounds pretty appetizing, doesn’t it?
It’s the kind of leak we like to believe ourselves.
