Union Station may be a mess, but the next time GO Transit commuters roll into Toronto’s central transit hub, they’ll at least have some good tunes to listen to courtesy of Metrolinx
In partnership with Sony Music Entertainment Canada, the provincial transportation agency announced today the launch of two new Spotify playlists. Dubbed GO Pop and GO Chill, the playlists feature tracks from popular artists like Justin Timberlake and John Legend, as well as national favourites like The Weeknd and Drake.
Metrolinx announced the playlists during a free live performance at Union Station by Canadian country outfit Cold Creek Country.
“These dynamic new playlists were programmed to make GO customer commutes more fun,” writes the agency. “GO Pop and GO Chill are handpicked to appeal to a variety of musical tastes and simultaneously designed to flow smoothly.”
Lest you believe the playlists were created by some music savvy bureaucrat at Metrolinx, they’re actually the work of Filtr Canada, a firm that specializes in creating playlists.
Check them out on Spotify.
