As you know, RIM has been working with well-known game developers to port existing franchises to the tablet and next-gen smartphone platform, and they’re making good on their word.
One of the best games on iOS is Jetpack Joyride from Halfbrick Studios, and the team is bringing it and four other games to PlayBook and BlackBerry 10. Fish Labs is bringing Galaxy on Fire 2; Sega is bringing Sonic 4 Episode 1; Paw Print Games is bringing KAMI RETRO; Glitchsoft is bringing Star Marine; Hutch is bringing Smash Cops.
These are all very high-profile and big money games, many of which are being ported using RIM’s own porting tools, alongside existing engines like Unity.
Whether it will aid in adoption of the existing PlayBook is one matter; more importantly, these titles will be available to users of the first BlackBerry 10 device when it comes later this year.
