Jelly Bean source code released in AOSP

At Google I/O they announced that OS 4.1 Jelly Bean will first be available OTA for the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S and Motorola Xoom “mid-July.” However today Jean-Baptiste Queru, Google’s Android Technical Lead, said that they’ll be pushing out Jelly Bean source code into the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). This is a step forward for manufacturers, and basically anyone in the world, to download, tweak and port their devices to the OS. Queru noted that the release is android-4.1.1_r1 and that binaries are available for Nexus 7 and Galaxy Nexus, with the Nexus S and Xoom to soon follow… surely the folks at CyanogenMod will be having fun with this.
