Mobilicity goes live with its 21Mbps network, 20GB premium monthly data plans

Mobilicity, as expected, has gone live with its “4G” network, promising speeds of 21Mbps on compatible devices. The carrier, which is present in major markets such as Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Ottawa, is advertising its network as “unlimited”, adding two premium data plans to its offerings.

The details of the massive carrier upgrade were reported last week, and it turns out that the details were true. Mobilicity is adding a $20/20GB Premium Data Add-on for users to add to any existing plan. Then there’s a $50 Premium Mobile Data Internet Plan to be combined with the new $79.99 Huawei E366 Data Stick, which supports the new HSPA+ signal. The carrier has also dropped the price of its Basic Mobile Data Internet Plan, which provides up to 6GB at regular speeds, to $35/month.

Currently all of Mobilicity’s base plans have been discounted to $30/month, so adding the $20 Premium Data Add-on gives you unlimited North American talk, global text and 60 minutes of American roaming calling per month, plus 20GB of data. Without the data add-on, you’ll be throttled after 6GB.

Check out all the new plans at Mobilicity.
