Huawei W2 Windows Phone 8 device looks to challenge the high-end in 2013

Since the announcement of Windows Phone 8 in June, we haven’t heard much from Microsoft’s fourth launch partner, Huawei. While the mid-range W1 has been outed, the Chinese manufacturer has yet to formally announce any WP8 products.

Now it looks like Huawei is readying another Windows Phone 8 product, this time the high-end W2. It looks to have a screen 4.5 to 4.8 inches in size, with an 8MP rear camera and dual-LED flashes, along with a front-facing camera for Skype calls. We’d venture a guess that the insides will be packed with a dual-core 1.5Ghz Snapdragon S4 processor, 1GB RAM and a non-removable battery somewhere in the vicinity of 2000mAh, but who are we to say?

The design seems fairly mundane, though the backing does resemble a Cylon if you squint the right way. No word on when the W2 will be launched, but we’re hearing rumours of a CES announcement, so expect it in early 2013.
