According to our friends at Bell head office, their new e-bill system is supposed to be stellar and provide customers with the option of having one bill for all services. In fact it’s so advance that it accidentally overcharged 100,000 clients in Ontario and Quebec $500.
According to the internal notice:
“As a result of a system error with the launch of the new e-bill, a message was sent in error to 100,000 One Bill eBill clients in Ontario and Quebec. The error message states that the client has an account balance owing of $500. This is an error message and does not impact the clients actual balance owing. Impacted clients have been sent an e-mail notifying them of the error and have been provided with the correct balance”
Let’s just say nobody noticed their bill, Bell would have walked away with a cool $50,000,000. So, if you are curious if you are one of the chosen ones who got impacted, please check your bill… then call retention and get a discount.
