LG is set to strut their stuff and release their G2 flagship Android smartphone. According to the press release, the G2 will be available ‘beginning September 27’ across a multitude of carriers and retailers: Rogers, Bell Mobility, TELUS, Videotron, SaskTel, WIND Mobile, WIRELESSWAVE, Tbooth wireless, WIRELESS etc, Target Mobile, Best Buy, Future Shop, The Source and the Mobile Shop.
LG also noted that the “carriers and retailers will set and announce their own pricing individually.” Most likely it’ll be the Big 3 (Rogers, Bell and TELUS) that will be first out with the G2, then Videotron, SaskTel and WIND shortly after. As for pricing, LG’s own contest terms and conditions revealed the retail price of $699.
The G2 has a 5.2-inch full HD IPS display (1080 x 1920 resolution, 423 ppi), 2.26GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 32GB internal memory, 2GB RAM, 13MP rear camera, 2.1MP front-facing camera, 3,000mAh battery and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with ‘planned OS upgrades.’
Update: While it was expected, TELUS has sent us an email confirming that they will be releasing the LG G2 on September 27th. Still no word on the price plans.
