As a pilot project with the Credit Union Central of BC, the first financial institutions in the country to adopt text message banking are BC-based Coast Capital Savings and Mount Lehman Credit Union. Once you register with the either company the “text banking” is available to you through texting “COAST” (26278) for Coast Capital Savings, and Mount Lehman members can text “MONEY” (66639).
The service is free from credit unions fees, however, you’ll need to pay the their mobile carriers for sending and receiving messages.
