One of the biggest features missing (and a bit perplexing) on the BlackBerry PlayBook is a native email client. RIM promised this will arrive shortly but until that magical day third party app developer aiFlex created “aMail”. The app has been submitted into the BlackBerry App World but is still waiting for the official go ahead. amail is specific to the PlayBook and allows you to have up to 10 email account (POP3 and IMAP4) so you can get your Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail etc… as for features, it operates like any other email client where you can create, send, reply, forward email.
aiFlex states that emails are all secure and future upgrades to the app will include the ability to attach files and multitouch gestures. Hopefully this gets approved quickly.
