Following reports from last week is the Wall Street Journal stating that Amazon is currently testing a smartphone. Their sources, who are “people familiar with the situation,” say that mass production might start later this year, or early next. It’s rumoured that the “Kindle Phone,” which if launched in Canada will lack some applications, will be low cost to compete with Google’s Android devices. In addition, other rumoured specs have Amazon’s smartphone potentially launching in November and coming with a TI OMAP 4 processor, plus a screen size between 4 and 5-inches.
