Apple has been rumoured to be launching a low-cost iPhone to integrate into emerging markets. Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, openly stated that they are not building another iPhone line, stating last week that “It takes a lot of work, a lot of really detailed work, to do a phone right, when you manage the hardware, software and services around it. We’ve chosen to focus our energy on getting those right. And we’ve made the choices in order to do that. So we haven’t become defocused [by] working on multiple lines.”
However, pictures have surfaced from China that could reveal what the possible low-cost iPhone would look like. Of course, these could be a massive fake, but shows the new connector, plus the rumoured curved plastic backing (brings back memories of the iPhone 3GS). Missing from all this is Apple’s branding. Usually we’d see an Apple logo, or something that says it’s been designed in California.
