Two-dimensional side-scrolling throwback title, Graceful Explosion Machine, developed by Toronto-based studio Vertex Pop, is the first Canadian-developed video game to hit Nintendo’s hybrid Switch console.
The game, which is already receiving a positive response from both critics and fans, has players taking control of a spaceship and taking on hordes of hostile enemies with a variety of sci-fi inspired weapons.
Players control a ship that glides gracefully through stages, taking down enemies with diamond-shaped geometric explosions, complete with retro-inspired sound effects.
Given that the Switch currently has few games available for it, especially independently developed titles with a unique twist, Graceful Explosion Machine has ample opportunity to become one of the console’s first big indie hits.
If you’ve finished The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and are looking for another reason to pick up your Nintendo Switch, Graceful Explosion machine could be the title you’ve been waiting for.
Graceful Explosion Machine also features over 30 levels set in 4 distinct worlds. The game is currently priced at $13.99 in the Nintendo eShop.
