Samsung has announced a new Value Pack software update for the Samsung Gear S3. According to Samsung, this value pack update is available in all major markets, while other regions will receive the update in the “near future.”

The value pack comes with updates to the Samsung’s Health app, Reminders, Accessibility, the Find My Gear utility and more.

Gear S3’s Samsung Health:

According to Samsung, the user interface has changed for the Samsung Health and new workout features have been added to the device as well. Users will now know how much time they spend in each heart rate zone through colour coded graphs. Gear S3 users can also view their daily heart rate range and have a new stretching guide, whenever they are inactive for more than 50 minutes.

Samsung has included a feature in the update allows Gear S3 users to auto-locate and record the approximate location of where they’re running or walking and sync pace-setter running targets from the Samsung Health app on their phone with the Gear S3.

Reminders, Accessibility and Find My Gear

The Reminder update effects both the Gear S3 and the S2. Samsung allows users to add specific time and date reminders delivered through S Voice. “Remind me to go to Susie’s piano recital at 6pm on Friday” is now something you can say to the Gear and it will perform the reminder. The Reminder app update also allows users to edit the titles of reminders. For the reminder previous, giving it the name of “Susie’s recital” shouldn’t be a problem.

The Accessibility feature has also received an update that enables dark screen, greyscale and negative colours. The Find My Gear option now allow users to add information such as an e-mail or phone to display on the lock screen and users are also now able to lock their devices remotely.

Other Updates

The Gear S3 now has a new simplified Altimeter/Barometer in its settings menu and users can also now control music directly from the wearable’s watch faces.

The news briefing widget has been also updated to feature an up and down button so the device can be easily used and the stopwatch now has the ability to go for up to three hours.
