EB Games Canada is opening a big new store in downtown Montreal this week.
The store will be located at Cours Mont-Royal (1455 Peel Street), with the grand opening set for Thursday, October 16 at 12 p.m. To celebrate, the retailer is promising gifts with purchases for the first 100 customers, raffles for exclusive prizes and showcases for Nintendo, Pokémon and Bandai Namco products.

On top of that, this Montreal flagship will debut EB Games Canada’s new trading card game (TCG) trade-in program, allowing customers to buy and sell singles from various card games. The retailer says it plans to expand this program to other stores across Canada in the future.
Notably, this Montreal flagship is the first new EB Games Canada store since French-Canadian entrepreneur Stephan Tetrault acquired the chain from previous owner GameStop. As part of that move, Tetrault rebranded the stores as EB Games Canada, which they had been called until they were changed in 2021 to “GameStop Canada.” Tetrault also promised a return to the brand’s roots, including community-driven events like this, as well as those focused on TCGs.
