Sonos has a new slate of lights on that way that are bringing the price down to compete with the flood of cheap smart lights you can buy online. Plus, you can now control them with Sonos Voice Control.
The newest lights are out now alongside a video doorbell and a new hub that can connect to more lights and save even more scenes. While the newest lights are better, they’re just lights, and there is a 40 per cent off sale on the older ones.
Personally, I’m excited that Sonos is working with the company to add support for its voice control. Ever since Sonos stopped working with Google I’ve used voice assistants less, but it’s bound to be handy to have the option to turn my lights off with my speakers.
If you want more intricate outdoor lighting, this refresh also includes new lights to go permanently along a roof and more robust outdoor string lights for people that just want to light a little patio area.
Throughout the years there haven’t been many substantial upgrades to the Hue ecosystem so it’s nice to see the company reformatting to better take on the competition. That said, the new Bridge Pro costs $130 and a single A19 styled bulb is $35, making them still more expensive than a lot of other options.
