The big debate between the federal party leaders is set to take place this week.
Liberal Leader Mark Carney, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh and Bloc Quebecois Leader Yves-Francois Blanchet will take part in two debates.
A French-language debate will be held on Wednesday, April 16 at 6 p.m. ET and be moderated by Radio-Canada’s Patrice Roy. One day later, on April 17 at 7 p.m. ET, an English debate will take place with TVO’s Steve Paikin serving as moderator. Both will be broadcast live from Montreal’s Maison de Radio-Canada atrium. Both will run for two hours without commercials.
If you’re interested in tuning in, the process is pretty simple, with many broadcasters set to air the events. This includes:
- CBC — CBCnews.ca, CBC News app (Android/iOS), CBC Gem, CBC’s YouTube channel
- CPAC — CPAC YouTube channel
- CTV — CTVNews.ca, the CTV News app (Android/iOS), CTV News YouTube channel
- Global News — GlobalNews.ca, Global News YouTube channel
The federal election takes place on Monday, April 28, although advanced polling options are also available. More information on the voting process can be found on the official Elections Canada website.
