Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lollipop update rolling out [Update]

Bell has reportedly begun rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The device, released in 2013, quickly became one of the company’s most popular devices in Canada, boosting the Note brand to mainstream status after moderate uptake of the original Note and Note 2.

The update comes a few weeks after Android 5.0 began rolling out — in stops and starts — on the Galaxy S5, and before the same update comes to the Note 4.

Like the Galaxy S5, the Note 3 is receiving Android 5.0, not 5.0.2 as is launching on the Galaxy S6. The build dates to March 13th.

Bell’s software update page hasn’t reflected the rollout just yet, but we’ve reached out to the carrier to confirm. There’s no word on whether the same update will be coming to Note 3 devices on other carriers just yet; we’ll update this post when we know more.

Update: Looks like TELUS and Rogers customers have begun receiving the Android 5.0 update for the Note 3 as well.
