HTC initially shocked Desire owners a month ago stating that because of a lack of memory an upgrade to Android OS 2.3 Gingerbread would never happen. This clearly wasn’t the best news, then a couple days later a small miracle occurred and HTC retracted their statement and decided they’ll push 2.3 to Desire users, but “will cut select apps from the release”. It now seems HTC is working hard on getting this update ready for prime time because a post on their Facebook page says “Our testing has gone well so we will begin rolling out the update by the end of July! Thank you again for your support!”. Hopefully TELUS quickly approves this upgrade.
