Call it magic, fate or whatever you will, but only two days after we wrote a bit of criticism of Google’s silence in regards to the absence of an ICS upgrade for the Nexus S, Engadget has received confirmation from a reliable source that an upgrade is imminent. Coming to both the 9020A (Rogers/Telus/Bell) and 9020T (WIND/Mobilicity) at the same time, Google has apparently fixed all the outstanding battery/usability issues that plagued the first Android 4.0.3 release.
We aren’t sure whether this build will also be running the same software version or whether it will be bumped to Android 4.0.5 as rumoured for a March release earlier this year. While we’re still not impressed with Google’s reticence to provide an explanation for the delay, at least all you Nexus S owners should be very happy about this news — as long as it’s true.
