Apple begins selling app and game bundles with iOS 8

Apple has begun selling app and game bundles along with iOS 8, allowing users to purchase, often at a discount, multiple paid apps at once.

The new feature allows developers to bundle all of their apps together, including some lesser-known ones, to push sales higher, and it also gives Apple a new outlet to promote paid apps in an ecosystem that is increasingly moving towards freemium products.

At the moment, likely to maintain accounting consistency, all apps included in the bundle must be from the same developer. Companies like Runtastic and Pixite, which offer multiple apps with a similar theme, are giving slight discounts to bundle buyers. Game developers like Rovio and Gameloft have already begun selling entire series: Gameloft is selling Modern Combat 3-5 for $9.99, whereas the individual games cost $6.99.
