Nokia’s EVP of Mobile Solutions suddenly resigns


Big things are happening over at Nokia. Last week it was announced that CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo is being replaced by Canadian-born Stephen Elop, tomorrow Nokia World 2010 kicks off… but today Anssi Vanjoki, Nokia’s EVP & GM Mobile Solutions, gave his 6-month notice and is resigning. Vanjoki originally joined Nokia back in 1991 and it’s rumoured that he was the one inside Nokia to be considered to take over as their new CEO.

Vanjoki said in a statement that “I felt the time has come to seek new opportunities in my life. At the same time, I am one hundred per cent committed to doing my best for Nokia until my very last working day. I am also really looking forward to this year’s Nokia World and sharing news about exciting new devices and solutions.”
