Simplii customers can now bank online and on mobile devices

Simplii Financial opens ‘its virtual doors’

Several months after CIBC rebranded PC Financial to Simplii Financial, customers can now bank online and on their smartphones using the Simplii mobile app.

A November 1st, 2017 media release reiterated Simplii’s no-fee daily banking policy, emphasizing that customers can send and receive unlimited Interac e-transfers for free.

Simplii customers also have free access to a network of approximately 3,400 CIBC ATMS across the country.

“We’re excited to add even more value for clients by offering free unlimited e-transfers out of the gate and we will continue to introduce enhanced digital banking services that meet the rapidly evolving needs of Canadians,” said Mike Boluch, executive vice president of direct banking, innovation and payments at CIBC, in the same release.

The Simplii Financial brand was born out of the ashes of CIBC ending its direct banking partnership with PC Financial.

Simplii is now one of a series of direct banks in Canada, and one of two direct banks that are affiliated with a major Canadian banking institution. The other is Tangerine Bank, which is a subsidiary of Scotiabank.

The Simplii Financial app is free-to-download on both Android and iOS.
