The Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) has announced that over 538,000 new .CA domain names have been registered during the period between April 2017 and March 2018.
This is the most .CA domain names ever created in a single year. The second highest year in terms of Canadian domain name registrations was 2012, when 511,900 sites were created.
According to the CIRA, it has over 2,500,000 .CA domain names currently under its management. Part of the CIRA’s job is to make sure that all .CA domain names are registered to Canadian residents, businesses and organizations.
