Tesla announced eight new key hires last week, including some former Apple, Snap, Amazon and Walmart employees.
Stuart Bowers is joining Tesla as the vice president of engineering, which is responsible for much of Tesla’s software and hardware engineering. Bowers joined Tesla from Snap, where he was VP of monetization engineering.
Prior to Snap, Bowers was an engineer with Facebook’s Seattle office. He worked on data infrastructure and machine learning for search with the big blue social network.
Apple’s Neeraj Manrao, who led the technical operations team, will be Tesla’s new director of energy manufacturing.
Mark Mastandrea started earlier this month as director of vehicle delivery operations. Previously Mastandrea was the director of logistics operations with Amazon. He also worked on the design and development of AmazonFresh pickup.
Walmart eCommerce’s vice-president of digital acceleration Kate Pearson is now Tesla’s director of field delivery operations.
Along with them, Tesla is also hiring Kevin Mukai as director of production engineering at the Gigafactory. Mukai was most recently at ThinFilm Electronics, where he served as senior director of process engineering.
James Zhou started last month as its China CFO, coming over from Ingersoll Rand where he was CFO for Asia Pacific and India.
Alexandra Veitch also joined last month as the senior director for North American government relations and policy. Additionally, Myriam Attou started recently as the regional sales director in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Tesla said it was excited to welcome the new team members and will be announcing more hires in the coming days.
