Adobe Flash arrives for Android 4.0 and the Galaxy Nexus

We’ll admit it, we found it slightly strange that Adobe Flash was incompatible with the Galaxy Nexus when it arrived on December 5th, especially after the company had recently announced it was getting out of the mobile game altogether.

But then there was an announcement from Adobe itself: they were just working out some lingering compatibility issues with the platform and it would be made available before the end of the year.

Here we are, halfway through December and lo and behold magic has happened. We’ll be honest, with the proliferation of HTML5 video on most websites we didn’t miss Flash on our Android device as much as we thought, but hey, it’s here now if you want it.

Adobe Flash now sits at version 11, and according to the changelog, “includes compatibility with Android 4 supported devices, performance improvements and bug fixes related to security and stability. The complete set of release notes can be found at: http://adobe.ly/s16mAX.”

You can download Flash 11 from the Android Marketplace
