Lenovo plots Android takeover with IdeaTab S2 tablet

Now isn’t this interesting. Lenovo is also stepping into the Android tablet ring with its latest dock-enabled IdeaTab S2 tablet. The Android 4.0-running device will run Qualcomm’s latest dual-core chip, the Snapdragon MSM8960, but besides that we only know it will have a 10.1-inch display.

Compatible with the tablet, which runs a custom Lenovo Android skin called Mondrian, is a keyboard dock which, together with the tablet itself, provides upwards of 20 hours of battery life.

The tablet is supposed to be around 7.6 9.8mm thick and weigh 1.1lbs — not bad for thickness but certainly heavy for weight.

We’ll bring you a hands-on later on in the week.
