Finally! YouTube for iOS gets AirPlay support and extends to iPhone 5 screen

It’s taken a long time — far too long for most iPhone users — but YouTube for iOS has been updated to take advantage of the 16:9 ratio iPhone 5 screen. That makes that not only will the app fill up the entire screen in portrait and landscape mode, but widescreen media will look as it should. It’s been optimized for both flavours of the iPad, which is great for anyone who uses the service on the bigger screen.

Google has also integrated AirPlay support into YouTube for iOS, so you can beam music or video to your AirPlay-connected receiver or Apple TV.

The Goog has thrown in some improvements to playlists, too, and improved accessibility using VoiceOver.
