As promised, Apple has released an update to its iBooks app for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. The main improvement is theme-based, allowing the user to scroll vertically through a book instead of horizontally. While this may run counter to how one would prefer to navigate through a book, on a tablet it makes sense. Apple claims that they listened to feedback from its prolific readers and added the feature upon request.
iBooks 3.0 also adds iCloud syncing, so if you’ve purchased a book on the iPad, it will automatically become available on the iPhone. iCloud syncing also allows authors to easily add free chapters and interactive elements to existing titles through the update iBooks Authors app.
If you own an Apple product, you most likely already have iBooks downloaded. If so, head to iTunes to update it.
