The first one is called “Handheld mobile communication device with movable display/cover member. This indicates progress of the BlackBerry to a slider configuration which can possibly be used while watching video/TV.
The second RIM patent application is called “System and method of integrating a touchscreen within an LCD“ which means they couple be creating it’s own Multi-touch touchscreen technology.
