Rogers Wireless to launch French Voice Control

Nuance Extends Language Support for Speech-Based Mobile Search and Communications ServiceRogers Wireless has announced “Nuance Voice Control“, a speech-based mobile search and messaging service that will be available in French at the beginning in April.

Users can dictate email and text messages and have them instantly transcribed on their smartphone, ready to send. In addition it can create calendar entries, dial a contact, play music, obtain driving directions, and search the Web for business listings, news, weather, stock quotes, sport scores. Rogers will initially offer the French-based service for select BlackBerry devices, including the BlackBerry 8800, 8310 and 8110. The service will also be launched in French for Windows Mobile devices in the coming weeks.
