Bell’s Q3 2008 Results: client base reaches 6,449,000 (up 7.1%)

Bell has released its Q3 2008 results and have reported its wireless revenues increased by 8.5% to $1,061 million with a record of postpaid wireless net additions of 113,000 (49% more than last year). Total gross activations were 439,000 this quarter (down 1.3% compared to last year). Bell Wireless client base reached 6,449,000 (up 7.1% over last year).

This quarter George Cope, President & CEO of BCE implemented his “100-day plan” to streamline the organization by a slashing 2,500 jobs and re-branding with the famous and soon to be changed tagline “Today just got better“, and announced building 4G technology by 2010.

Cope said “We successfully implemented the Bell 100-day plan in the quarter, including the streamlining of our organization, the launch of our new brand, and significant investments in our customer service and broadband wireless and wireline networks. Bell is clearly moving forward as a customer-focused, competitive and cost-efficient communications company”
