Earth month is fast approaching an it seems Pizza Pizza will be reaching out for a good cause. Five years ago a program called “Cell for Slices” started where you can get a free cheese or pepperoni slice in exchange for your unused cell phone. This will be available for the month of April.
A refurbished phone can get anywhere from $2 – $5 and to-date a total of 3,000 phones have been collected. The proceeds help food banks across Canada. CMO Pat Finelli of Pizza Pizza said “Recycling old cell phones, or whatever else we find during spring cleaning, is another way for customers to show their commitment to the environment and Earth Month”.
