Weather Network’s “WeatherEye” now available for Google Android and Windows Mobile devices

android_shortterm_calgary_enThe Weather Network already has an iPhone and BlackBerry app, now their free “WeatherEye” Mobile appcan be used for Windows Mobile and Google Android devices. What – no love for the Palm Pre yet?

The image shows a screenshot of the app in action on an Android device not available in Canada, or in a colour unavailable here also. Perhaps the Weather Network knows something about unreleased upcoming devices. However, if you’re a user of any of those devices you can get instant up-to-date weather info from over 10,000 cities across the world. In addition to the weather info you can get related data such as a flight tracking, traffic information and Golf and Ski conditions. The app can be download here at mobile.theweathernetwork.com

Mark Thompson, Director of The Weather Network’s mobile division said “We understand how important it is for our audiences to have convenient access to accurate weather, so we’ve made a conscious effort to try and reach as many Smartphone users as possible with our applications.  That’s also why we’ve decided to offer it for free. We put a lot of time and effort into designing WeatherEye Mobile, from content and design, to functionality on the different handsets and operating systems.  As a result, WeatherEye is the most popular free weather app in Canada on both BlackBerry and iPhone, and we expect the same results with Windows Mobile and Google Android.”
