Rogers to launch N86… declares their lineup “is the envy of wireless companies around the world”

mostreliableWe first found out about the Nokis N86 when Nokia’s Holiday Guide was released a few weeks ago. Then last week, a document popped up that showed the N86 as part of Rogers new “Webphones” lineup.

Today Rogers has officially announced the N86 will be available “in the coming weeks” for $99.99 on a three-year voice and data plan. They describe the N86 as “Coming soon to Rogers in time for the holidays is the sleek and stylish Nokia N86 smartphone featuring an impressive 8 megapixel camera and 8GB of onboard memory to store music, movies and photos.”

More importantly is the essence of new competition. On the day that Bell launches their new HSPA network, Rogers comes in storming and declares their dominance. The press release title stated Unparalleled HSPA smartphone lineup underscores Rogers’ network superiority… sound like the networks are friends right. You’ll see I’ve highlighted the important statements. Us Canadians are very humble.

Rogers continue to inform us Canadians that “Rogers has been perfecting the GSM family of technologies for nearly ten years. Today, with a selection of more than 30 HSPA devices, Rogers offers the broadest portfolio of the wireless products Canadians want including the widest range of HSPA smartphones, Google Android and BlackBerry devices, and the best variety of Quick Messaging phones.”

John Boynton, EVP Marketing at Rogers said “Rogers customers can choose from a device lineup that is the envy of wireless companies around the world.
