70% of Canadians say searching points of interest when using GPS is important

Nokia and Angus Reid recently conducted a online survey that asked is it “important to them to have visually-guided, turn by turn pedestrian/walk navigation as a part of their GPS application?”. The survey was conducted between October 26th to October 27th, 2009 of 1,000 adult Canadians and found:

– 60% of Canadians say that it is important to them to have visually-guided, turn by turn pedestrian/walk navigation as a part of their GPS application.
– 70% of Canadians say that it is important to them to be able to search for points of interest when using a GPS tool
– 51% want to be able to search for nearby events.
