Shaw looking to hire a “Sr. Wireless Architect”

Shaw Communications won 18 licences and spent $189 million during the Canadian Wireless Spectrum Auction. Back on January 14th CEO Jim Shaw said “during fiscal 2010 we also plan to take initial steps to commence wireless activities, with build out planned over the next several years.”

Looks like Shaw is moving ahead with their wireless plans as they’ve posted a position on their job board looking to hire a “Sr. Wireless Architect” who’ll eventually be a “member of and accountable for activities of the Architecture Working Group focusing on Wireless initiatives. “.

Shaw states the some of the accountabilities of this position include:
“Participate in the formulation of Shaw’s OSS/BSS architectures focused on wireless technologies. (GSM/UMTS/LTE)” and “Help implement formulated OSS/BSS architectures focused on wireless technologies. (GSM/UMTS/LTE)”.
