Canadians sent over 35 billion text messages in 2009

The Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association (CWTA) have released some statistics when it comes to text messaging in Canada. In 2009 they state that Canadians sent 35.3 billion peer-to-peer text messages. This is a whopping 70% increase from 2009 where the number was 20.8 billion text messages. The largest number again was in December 2009 with over 3.7 billion messages (approximately 122 million per day).
