Bell officially announces the HTC Desire Z is “available nationally in coming weeks”


After several leaked internal docs it’s now made official. Bell will be exclusively releasing the HTC Desire Z in the coming weeks. No pricing was given but we posted earlier that this will retail for $499.99 no-contract. Bell has put up the standard sign up for more info page online and in the terms and conditions it states the value of the Desire Z retails for $499.

In a press release Bell stated that the OS 2.2 (Froyo) powered Desire Z “will be the first smartphone in Canada offering download speeds up to 14.4 megabits per second” and also be the first device to have the new version of HTC Sense.

Specs are as follows: QWERTY keyboard, 3.7-inch WVGA touch display (resolution of 480 x 800), 800MHz Qualcomm 7230 processor, Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspot (connect up to 8 devices), 5 megapixel camera, flash and can record 720p HD videos, Adobe 10.1 Flash player enabled.
