Telus, MTS, SaskTel, RIM all honoured as one of “Canada’s Top 100 Employers”


Mediacorp has announced “Canada’s Top 100 Employers” and their editors examined thousands of employers across Canada in 8 areas: (1) Physical Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere & Social; (3) Health, Financial & Family Benefits; (4) Vacation & Time Off; (5) Employee Communications; (6) Performance Management; (7) Training & Skills Development; and (8) Community Involvement.

This year specifically for telecommunications organizations here’s the list that made the cut: Telus, Ericsson Canada, MTS Allstream, RIM and SaskTel. Some of the reasons of why these companies were recognized are below (MTS description was MIA):

TELUS: Supports ongoing employee education with tuition subsidies, helps employees prepare for retirement, provides parental leave top-up payments to new mothers, offers a number of excellent financial benefits, employee referral bonuses

SaskTel
: offers employees discounted company products, free memberships to an on-site fitness facility, employees and retirees donate tens of thousands of volunteer hours every year, operates a peer recognition program, tuition subsidies

RIM: Gives new employees a free BlackBerry smartphone, tuition subsidies, helps employees plan for retirement with matching RSP contributions, provides on-site massage services, flu shot clinics and discounted gym memberships

Ericsson Canada: offers new mothers a maternity leave top-up payment, provides on-site daycare centre, supports ongoing employee skills development, offers referrals bonuses, free memberships to an on-site fitness facility
