Virgin Mobile creates “Common Cents” initiative to help the homeless

It’s good to see the mobile carriers helping out for a good cause. TELUS supports Breast Cancer, Koodo helps Food Banks Canada, Rogers is a big supporter in the United Way, Bell with the mental health initiatives and Virgin does their part by helping the homeless with their Virgin Unite and RE*Generation initiative.

November 17th has been declared as “National Youth Homelessness Awareness Day”. Tonight Virgin will be holding a concert with Canadian band Mother Mother at Lee’s Palace. If you can’t attend you can still help out. Virgin has set up the ability to give via text message. All you have to do is text REGEN to 30333 to donate $5… Virgin will match the first 10,000 donations. In addition, Virgin Mobile members can donate $1 via their monthly bill as a new program has been launched today called “RE*Generation Common Cents”.
