MTS now “expects to fully launch HSPA services in the first quarter of 2011”

This could be a bit disappointing to some MTS customers. MTS announced way back on July 28th, 2009 that they were building out their HSPA network and had a targeted completion for the “end of 2010”. In their Q3 2010 report today it states that they are “now moving into a technical test phase and expects to fully launch HSPA services in the first quarter of 2011”. So it’s unfortunately delayed a bit. Kelvin Shepherd, President, MTS said “We are undergoing detailed testing of both the HSPA network and related systems and with that in mind, it makes sense to launch HSPA early in the new year when activity in our customer service channels is typically lower”.

No worries Manitobans – you still have the Motorola Milestone A854 and the BlackBerry Style 9670 coming.
