Bell continues to expand 42 Mbps network coverage

Bell is quickly expanding their 42 Mbps coverage area. This was originally launched on November 23rd, 2010 and only reached a small portion of the downtown Toronto core. Bell has updated the coverage map today and as you can tell the reach has been expanded all the way out to Oshawa, hitting Newmarket, Brampton and currently ends in Hamilton. I would say that’s great progress in a couple months.

The only product that’s currently available is the Novatel Wireless U547 Turbo Stick. Bell does state in the fine print that “42 Mbps is a theoretical peak speed. Expected average download speed of 7-14 Mbps. Actual speeds may vary due to topography, environmental conditions, device type and other factors.”

Bell will be continuing to expand coverage throughout 2011.
