Concept: HTC Tube is a “Cartridge Powered Phone”

Here’s an interesting concept design that puts the power to the people. The HTC Tube was created by Antoine Brieux and is a “Cartridge Powered Phone”. The exterior of the device is basically a shell but the inside comes in 3 variations: “Starter Edition” at 8GB, “Smart Edition” at 16GB and “Ultimate Edition” at 64GB. Depending on which one you choose it will also give you different specs.

For example if you choose to insert the Starter Edition you have Android 2.2, with a 800MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 3.2 megapixel camera with video and weighs in at 137 grams. Taking it to the “Ultimate Edition” you’ll get the device running both Android 2.2 and Windows Phone 7, 1.5GHz dual core Snapdragon processor, a whopping 12 megapixel camera that can capture 1080p HD videos but comes in at a hefty 165 grams.

It’s a good idea and gives the phone (at least the shell) a longer lifespan.
