Video: This is what HD Voice sounds like

A couple weeks back WIND Mobile and Huawei announced they will be bringing HD Voice to Canada. Wind will be the first carrier in Canada to implement this and it’ll bring a “better quality, clearer voice service experience”. Over in the UK wireless carrier Orange is implementing HD Voice and a video has been created to demonstrate the difference.

Martin Stanford from Sky News is the reviewer and he said “the difference is crystal clear” and that with non HD Voice phones “a very small portion of your voice is actually transmitted, which makes it actually quite hard to hear phone calls. That means background noise is more of a problem… What were doing now is using a much cleverer system. So we can use the same resource on the system, but actually squeeze more of your voice into it.”

Cool video and if this is truly what HD Voice sounds like then it’ll make speaking on the phone a greater experience.
